About Oshun Reed
Oshun lives with her husband in the small coastal town of Ocean Grove in Victoria, Australia. She has five adult children and seven beautiful grandchildren. Oshun was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016 after she was scammed out of $122,000 by an online dating fraudster. Four of her five children were diagnosed with bipolar in the years prior to this. Oshun works in the mental health field as a practice manager and was diagnosed as being in bipolar remission in 2022. In 2024 she won a 2024 Women in Community Life Award in the Disability Rights category. Oshun published Love Me: A Memoir of Online Dating, Mental Illness and Redemption in September 2024. A companion guide to Love Me titled, Surviving and Thriving with Bipolar Disorder: A Family Guide to Living Well with a Mental Illness, showcases how family support was crucial when individual family members were diagnosed with bipolar over a period spanning twenty years. The book highlights how, even under the most difficult circumstances, family support is crucial to living well and thriving with a diagnosis of mental illness.
